Issue
After launching the Kaltura Capture recorder, a message appears warning memory is less than 1 or 2 GB.
Troubleshooting
Kaltura Capture checks available RAM at the beginning of a recording and may issue a warning pop-up if memory is less than 1 or 2 GB.
In most cases, a 2 GB warning can be safely ignored, but users who are getting a 1GB warning may experience performance issues.
How to free up memory:
- Close all open software applications that are not needed for the recording
- Close all open browser tabs except the ones you need for the recording (open Gmail tabs can be a huge memory hog)
- Make single source only recordings when practical (e.g. leave your webcam off and just record the screen or vice versa)
- Rebooting your computer will flush out your RAM
